During the night hurricane Irene weakened slightly. She is currently at 110 mph and a CAT 2 storm now, please note that 111 mph is a CAT 3 storm so she is still right there.
I find it somewhat interesting that Irene has not strengthened as earlier predicted, I am happy but do find it perplexing. The only thing that makes sense to me is because Irene is so physically large she just can't get her act together.
To everyone on the east coast, please take it seriously and prepare.
